Lead Part Time Gymnastics Coach (Term Time)
Overview
As a Lead Gymnastics Coach, you will be leading our after-school multi-sports classes in local schools in and around the areas we work in that are close to you.
The areas we work in and around are:
Chertsey, Esher, East Molesey, Guildford, Hampton, Teddington, Twickenham Kingston, Richmond & Weybridge
Term time sessions are in local schools Monday – Friday and generally the times are 3.30 – 4.30pm.
Holiday Camps run in the school holidays Monday to Friday 9.45am to 5.15pm.
There is also potential work at our club programmes during the week after school classes and on Saturday mornings.

England Sports Group works with over 70 schools across Middlesex & Surrey, with a variety of sports such as gymnastics, dance, tennis, netball, football, rugby, basketball and archery amongst others.
Our 'Life Skills Through Sport' programme for children and 'Raising the Status of the Sports Coaching Profession' are the two pillars of our philosophy. We have created a quality culture, determined to develop every child and coach to their full potential.
We currently coach over 2,000 children a week and we want to release the potential in all of the children we teach.
The Role:
As a Lead Gymnastics coach, you will be responsible for a group of up to 15 children of similar ages to coach gymnastics at an introductory and intermediate level.
You will be developing flexibility, strength and coordination for gymnastics, getting the children to learn rolling, jumping, balancing, handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, back-flips and more. There will be floor routines with connective elements work and mastering skills on a variety of gymnastic apparatus.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the equipment is set up safely and managed accordingly throughout the class
- Ensuring children adhere to the uniform policy at each venue
- Bringing energy and enthusiasm to every session.
- Being professional in your interactions with children, parents, colleagues and schools.
- Being on time and prepared for all sessions
- Making sure the safeguarding guidelines are followed
- Setting up and packing away the equipment
- Giving direction to any assistant coaches within your sessions
- Teaching relevant skills, progressions and techniques suitable to the skill level of the child
- Talking with parents about the progress of their children, when necessary
- Being familiar with and following all club policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Coaches with British Gymnastics qualifications will be favoured
Experience working with children will be favoured
Must be 18 years old minimum
DBS Checked – this can be done in the joining process.
Reliable & Punctual
Good communication skills
Enjoys working with children
You must be eligible to work in the UK
You must be able to speak English fluently
You must be currently living within a commutable distance of this position.

Job Type: Part Time / Self-Employed
Rates of Pay:
Term Time: £18.00 to £20.00 /hour depending on your age, experience and/or qualifications.
